Hi! I'm an indie designer & developer, and I built Trace to help you track your expenses privately. Here's what you need to know about your data:

What Data Stays on Your Device

All your transactions, categories, and preferences are stored locally on your device. I don't have access to any of this data.

iCloud Sync

Your data is stored in your private iCloud account. This is between you and Apple - I never see or access your iCloud data.

Voice Input

When you use voice input to add transactions:

1. Your voice is transcribed on your device using Apple's Speech Recognition

2. The text transcription (not the audio) is sent to Claude AI to understand the transaction details

3. The audio recording is immediately deleted from your device after processing

4. I don't store or keep any voice recordings

What I Don't Do

• No analytics or tracking
• No selling data to anyone
• No ads or advertising
• No collecting personal information beyond what's needed for the app to work

Third-Party Services

• iCloud: For syncing your data across your devices (optional, in your private iCloud)
• Firebase Authentication: For secure sign-in
